We'll cover approximately 50 miles, returning at the end of the day to our lodging near the small town of Plymouth, VT. You'll hike significant mileage on this trip - between 7.5 and 12 miles each day, which requires being in excellent physical condition.

Ireland: Castles, Culture, and Hiking

Sicily and the Amalfi Coast

Naples Bay, Amalfi Coast, and Sicily

Our trip to southern Italy encompasses two regions that, while close together, are different in history, culture, cuisine, and landscape. The Amalfi Coast is simply stunning: rugged mountains, craggy seashore, and azure blue ocean serve as a backdrop to tiny villages. We then move on to the Island of Sicily which shares all this and yet is different in every way with its own distinctive feel, receiving well-deserved recognition as a fascinating place to visit with fabulous cuisine. From the ruins of Pompeii, to climbing Vesuvius, eating pizza in Naples, learning Sicilian cooking, tasting local wine, and hiking to caves to see ancient art, our trip to southern Italy will delight all your senses.

Hiking Wales

Cardiff, Wales

Wales is a small country with fascinating history, varied and stunning topography, and a warm and welcoming tradition of hospitality. Our hiking trip to Wales is a perfect mixture of hiking in stunning landscapes, interwoven with cultural encounters and experiences. We begin our adventure inthe vibrant capital city of Cardiff before heading off to the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the breathtaking Gower Peninsula. Then it’s on to the coast of Pembrokeshire, widely regarded as the spiritual heartland of Wales. Finally we head north to the rugged mountains of Snowdonia, a stronghold of Welsh culture.

Portugal Coastal Hiking

Portugal

Portugal is the oldest nation-state in Europe, ancient in history and rich in maritime culture. On this trip we combine hiking in the area just north of Lisbon - along white sand beaches and through thick forests - with hiking along the coast south of Lisbon, one the most scenic parts of the 'Rota Vicentina' considered a 'jewel' of Portugal. Wild beaches, towering cliffs, speculator wildflowers, and nesting storks provide a full day of incomparable natural history. Along the way we'll experience Portugal's warm culture, divine cuisine and perhaps the opportunity to indulge in some Portuguese wine.

Fall in the Great Smokies

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Great Smokies are known for spectacular fall foliage and beautiful fall weather with crisp days and cool nights! The human history is fascinating and the diversity of flora and fauna is truly exceptional. And by mixing our hiking with a day of whitewater rafting, we experience the full spectrum of the extraordinary variety of ecosystems that exist here. Everyone gets her own private room in our huge luxury cabin on this trip.

During our week we will discover the wide diversity of Alaska's natural beauty and meet a few of its characters along the way.

Living the Cowgirl Life

Laramie, Wyoming

Join us for a week of fun at an historic dude ranch near Wyoming's Snowy Mountains. A place of peace and quiet, our ranch combines time in the outdoors with comfortable lodging and hearty meals at night, away from cell phones and the internet. Combine riding well-trained horses, fly fishing in the local pond or river, and hiking through beautiful landscape with soaking in a hot tub, sitting on the porch while you read a book, and enjoying delicious meals - this week can be as relaxing or as active as you choose. Everyone has her own room on this trip with a shared jack'and'jill bathroom.

Hiking Bryce and Zion National Parks

Bryce and Zion National Parks, Utah

Sometimes you just want to fit in as much hiking in a short period as you possibly can, and that is what we have planned for this four-day getaway. We spend three nights in Zion Canyon with a day trip over to Bryce for one of its premiere hikes. You’ll see towering hoodoos, slithering slot canyons, and Emerald Pools. Spend your nights in the park’s lodge to rest well and get ready for another day of exploration.

Colors of Provence

This trip combines scenic hikes with visits to village markets, stays at French inns, quaint culture, and a chance to sample all the fantastic tastes of the south of France.

Trekking to Machu Picchu

Cusco and Machu Picchu, Peru

Experience Machu Picchu, situated on the spine of a jungle-cloaked granite peak towering 2,000 ft. above a roaring river. This archeological marvel is only one of the many highlights of Incan culture and history that we explore. Staying in remote mountain lodges, we trek along an ancient Incan Trail (a more remote off shoot of THE Inca Trail), over high passes and below towering peaks, beyond the crowded guidebook trails, and into the authentic heart of the Incan empire. At the end we visit Machu Picchu, the crowning glory of the Incas.
